Create a Site to Organize Your Team's Work 🏢
Sites keep all of your team’s areas, checklists, and users organized. We’ll start by thinking a bit about how you want to structure your team’s account, then create your first site.
This short video will walk you through the process:
To review the steps from the video, you will need to:
- Log into your OrangeQC account via your web browser. This should take you to your Setup tab.
- Click the “+ New Site” button. This will bring up a page where you can choose the name for your site.
- Enter the name of a top-level site for your account. Think about how your team organizes work and choose one of the biggest units with shared inspections, staff, or reporting needs; for example, by client, region, or building. The video above has more examples.
- Click “Save and set up your site.”
đź’ˇPro Tip: Keep moving forward with the next two steps to see how the whole system works together. That perspective makes it much easier to set up your account.
Assign an Inspection Form 🔎
Think of assigning a form like this: Instead of printing out a stack of paper inspection forms to give to a team or bring to a location, you're making the inspection forms available for that team or location in the app.
To assign your first inspection form on the Setup tab:
- Click on the site or area you want to inspect.
- Click "+ Assign Inspection Form.” This will bring up a drop-down menu with a few forms that have been pre-loaded to your account. Choose any option; we’ll go back and create or customize forms later.
- Choose the inspection form you want to assign. Then, click "Save".
Now, you’ll be able to perform the assigned inspection form for this area.
Do Your First Inspection📱
Grab your phone or tablet for this step. You’re ready to do your very first inspection in OrangeQC! Here's how:
To recap the steps from the video, you will need to:
- Download the OrangeQC app. It’s available on the App Store for iOS devices and on Google Play for Android devices.
- Launch and log into the app. Your account name is the first part of your login URL. If the app prompts you about notifications, we recommend opting to enable them. The app will notify you about tickets you opt to receive alerts about.
- Choose the area you want to inspect. Tap on your recently created Site, then open the inspection form.
- Explore how the form works. Tapping on a line item will allow you to change the rating. The three dots on iOS give you more options, while swiping left on Android brings up quick actions. Go ahead and try out the different options.
- Submit the form. When you're done, tap the "Submit" button to complete your inspection.
- View the submitted form via the web app. Go to the Inspections tab, where the inspection we just did should be waiting for us. Click on that inspection to open it up and get a feel for how it looks.
Congratulations! You’ve done your first inspection in the mobile app. We hope it’s the first of many for your team.
💡Pro Tip: You can perform inspections from the web app, too. While most of your inspections will be done on mobile devices, not laptops, this is an easy way to double-check that you’ve got all the right forms assigned to a particular area.
