Create and Customize Ratings

Inspectors choose a rating for each line item when they perform an inspection. You can customize the ratings however you’d like.

To see your current options, click the “Setup” tab and then on “Ratings” in the left-hand sidebar. All accounts have common pre-loaded ratings.

Create a New Rating

From the Ratings page, click "New Rating" in the upper right-hand corner. This brings up a drop-down menu of rating types to choose from.

  • Percentage: Percentage-based ratings are the most common for evaluating line items. They tie scores to a percentage value. The simplest example would be pass/fail, with 100% for pass and 0% for fail. See how to create a percentage rating.
  • Number Picker: A number picker allows inspectors to report numbers during inspections, such as to track ATP ratings, record temperatures, or do simple inventories. See how to create a number picker rating.
  • List: A list rating allows the inspector to choose an option from a list of choices that are not tied to scores. This might be a room number or the cleaner responsible for the area. See how to create a list rating.
  • Points: Point-based rating systems assign each rating a point value, rather than a percentage score. This is a much less common rating type, but is sometimes used by teams who incorporate the APPA standard and do not want to tie the score to a percentage. See how to create a points-based rating.

Customize a Rating

You can also click on an existing rating to customize the name and rating choices, as well as set percentage scores, define deficiencies, and choose which option appears by default.
