Private Inspections

What are Private Inspections?

In OrangeQC, private inspections are identical to your normal inspections with the notable difference that only certain users can see them. For example, if you have an internal employee training audit or feedback to share with your team, these details may not be relevant to your customers or other stakeholders.

Marking the inspection as private ensures that only users with access to private inspections can see those results. Private inspections are marked with the the lock icon.

How to use private inspections

There are two ways to use private inspections:

  1. Mark an inspection form as always private: When creating an inspection form through the Form Builder, you have the option to designate this inspection as private. Use this option if this inspection should always be private. Users will not be able to change the privacy settings if it is always private. Additionally, if a user does not have permission to view private inspections, then they will not see these forms anywhere within their account.
  2. Mark as private when performing the inspection: Any inspection can be marked as private by your inspectors in the field. If there are critical quality issues on the audit, teams often times will complete the audit as private, then immediately alert the team to address the deficiencies. Once the deficiencies are corrected, your inspectors could re-inspect the area as a non-private inspection. Inspectors should simply toggle the private option at the bottom of the inspection form before submitting.

User Setup

For users to view and interact with private inspections, they must have the designated permission. Administrators can modify a user's access via the People tab and editing the "Can view private inspections" option.

A best practice is to provide your internal team with access to private inspections, but disable this ability for external users, such as your customers or stakeholders.
